I am a Registered Member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP). I am bound by their Ethical Framework for Good Practice and subject to their Codes of Practice. i am also an Accredited Member of The National Counselling & Psychotherapy Society.
I also work as an Approved LINK Adoption Counsellor with Barnardo's Adoption Agency whom are registered to provide adoption placement and support services.
I provide support for help for those involved in agriculture and other rural businesses affected by stress and depression through https://www.yanahelp.org
Part of being a qualified and professional counsellor means I have had counselling as part of my training and will be in and out of therapy for the rest of my career when I feel it necessary for my own self care.
I also undertake regular supervision every month and hold professional indemnity insurance and I am DBS Checked.
Prior to being a counsellor and psychotherapist I worked for many years in retail & hospitality before switching career following a life changing event and training to work with mental health & disability in 2003. I began training as a counsellor in 2006. I have been running my counselling & psychotherapy practice full time since 2010, working in a variety of settings as a consultant and therapist (Mental Health Services, Schools, Charities) and have specialist knowledge around working with survivors of sexual and domestic abuse.
In recent years I have integrated my training in Regenerative Nature Based Therapy and I now live and work on a piece of land set up to share with clients and participants.
